In January-April 2013 the net foreign direct investments (without amounts owed to direct investors for goods and services) poured into the Belarus economy totaled $1.5 billion, 2.6 times up from January-April 2012, representatives of the National Statistics Committee of Belarus told BelTA.

A solar power plant with the output of 10MW will be built in the Free Economic Zone Mogilev in 2014, BelTA learned from the economy department of the Mogilev Oblast Executive Department.

Irish business circles are interested in cooperation with Belarus. The intention was confirmed during the presentation “Belarus: Getting familiar with the Customs Union. Opportunities for trade and investments” in Dublin, Ireland, the press service of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry told BelTA.

A windpower plant will be built near Novogrudok as part of the Belarus-EU international technical assistance project “Green Economy in Belarus”, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Vladimir Tsalko told media after a ceremony of signing the agreement on financing the project at the total tune of €12 million. On the EU’s behalf the document was signed by Head of the EU Delegation to Belarus Ambassador Maira Mora, BelTA has learnt.

The Gomel Economic Forum that is taking place on 17 May has already resulted in 11 investment agreements and declarations of intent estimated at $130 million, BelTA has learnt.
